My plan on here is to just chronicle my thoughts about sports on here. I have one main theory to cheering for teams for sports, cheer for the team which state you reside, and you get one out of state team. My out of state teams are the Red Wings (NHL) Red Sox (MLB) and the Colts (NFL).

Bauerlein was very wrong
When Bauerlien told us that technology was making us dumber, he must of not thought of all the benefits that new technology has helped us with. Just in our school system alone, technology has been a talker lately. In our recent focus groups, one talking point was free school wi-fi. I strongly believe that we should get this for Lincoln. With technology like iPods and iPads, wi-fi is something that can be extremly beneficial when it comes to working on projects in school.
Dropbox Denied
Since I could not work directly on my project today during class because of the filter on the internet, I figured I would just find content for my blog and send it to myself using the useful system of dropbox. Yet when I attempted to download dropbox from the internet, once again I was stopped by the internet filter. This time I needed a administration username and password to complete my work. This is getting really tiring when everyone else in the world is moving ahead on the technology front, and we still have the most basic of websites still blocked.
School in South Carolina Getting The Right Idea
Students that attend Robert E. Lee Acadamy in Bishopville, SC are getting encouraged to bring iPods to school, not discouraged. Bauerlien thought that this kind of technology would destroy students learning patterns, cause of the distractions they cause. This could not be farther from the truth in this school. They use iPads in younger classes to keep the kids interested in learning. There is apps on these apple innovations that are specifically designed to help kids learn. So my question is if there is technology out there that has applications that help students learn, why are we discouraged to bring them to school?
Below is a link to the article about the school which is using the apple technology to better learning.

blogging from my phone, because i can not blog from school.
During first block, we get work time everyday. For my first theme I am doing a blog about technology in schools, with most of my focus being about ipods and how they can be a focal point in public schools. I would love to start doing research and blog at school, but blogspot.com is blocked on our school server. For the administration personal looking at this right now, our internet blocking is stopping me from doing my project. Now I will have to go play a hockey game, get home at ten tonight, and work on this project.

First Post
Ipod use in the classroom and for educational use, is something that I have felt that Lincoln High School has been missing the past few years. With all of the technologies that are available to use, it would be unwise for administration to not at least consider updating some of the technology that we use for education. My next few posts will consist of content for educational ipod use.
